1) Look at all the images.
2) Decide on your favourite.
3) Scroll to the bottom of this post and click on the link that says '0 Comments'
4) Enter a comment saying a) which student's artwork you like best, and b) why you chose this one.

Student Artwork of the Week

6th - 13th June 2011

Year 8 Glazed Pottery- Inspired by Picasso

These beautiful glazed pottery pieces were produced by Year 8 students studying in Ms. Southwick's class. The students developed these after studying the cubist artwork of Pablo Picasso.

The pieces were assembled from flat slabs of clay and then fired in a kiln at over 1000 degrees until hard. They were then painted with special glazes and fired for a second time to create the deep, glossy colour you see here.

Ms. Southwick's Classes: Key Resources

Over the next few weeks, students may miss one or two art lessons to attend exams or other commitments. If you miss a lesson, it is your responsibility to check what you missed.

For Ms. Southwick's classes, here are the key worksheet materials you have been using in recent weeks:

- Checklist of Work
- Assessment Grid
- 'Analysing Artists' Work' Sheet
- Artist Research Guide Sheet
- PowerPoint of Artists to Research

Best of luck with your projects as we move towards the summer break!
